About This Special Issue
The Covid-19 pandemic is an unprecedented crisis. It has generated huge upheaval in companies and stimulated new thinking about what safety and risk management mean. From one day to the next, in an instant, everything changed: lockdowns, closed companies, quarantines, smart working, social isolation, distance learning. Covid-19 transformed the habits and attitudes of companies, people, and institutions, redefining a new world economic order. Each of us, without being experts or scholars, was exposed to the possible risks from the pandemic. The Journal of Investment and Management intends to dedicate a special issue to “Risk Management and Covid-19” and welcomes papers with a wide range of methodological approaches including theoretical, analytical, and/or empirical works. We encourage the submission of contributions from the fields of risk management and Covid-19 reflecting the variety of different approaches. We are interested in original papers that could address, but are not limited to, the following:
(1) Risk management tools in pandemic transactions: How relevant is risk management and which risk management tools have changed as a result of the health crisis?
(2) Impact of reports of virus spread, number of infected and number of deaths: what are the effects on financial markets and their risks?
(3) Impact of country characteristics on health risk management: what tools and measures have been adopted by individual countries?
(4) Impact of vaccine availability on financial market volatility. How has the vaccination tool reduced or increased the economic and financial risks of the various sectors?
